Ticketracker, based in Anderson, Ind., received the Emerging Tech Company of the Year Award for its comprehensive software-as-a-service solution during the 15th annual TechPoint Mira Awards honoring the best of tech in Indiana. The software allows schools to replace high-risk cash and paper-ticket processes that often rely on the “honor system,” with secure, online credit card payments for any fees, registrations, and events.

Ticketracker offers schools around the country the opportunity to increase revenue, improve efficiency, and increase accountability for all transactions. Ticketracker is currently used by K-12 administrators, athletic directors and other personnel around the country as a turnkey solution to transform antiquated processes into reliable and transparent revenue streams.

The Mira Awards judges believe Ticketracker not only found a problem and solved it, but they are dominating in an underserved niche market in which their competitors are not focused. With a huge customer base representing schools in all 50 states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico, Ticketracker has demonstrated a pattern of significant growth since its founding, but especially throughout 2013.

TechPoint, Indiana’s technology growth initiative, honored Ticketracker and 14 other Indiana-based companies, entrepreneurs and educators for their technology excellence and innovation on May 3, at the Mira Awards gala presented by BKD CPAs & Advisors. Mira — Latin for miracle and a variable star thousands of times brighter than the Earth’s sun — represents the best of tech in Indiana each year.

Forty-eight independent, volunteer judges spent more than 700 collective hours reviewing the applications, interviewing the nominees and choosing the 15 winners. Judges were primarily subject matter experts and experienced company executives.
