James L. Jay

TechPoint

James Jay is the President and CEO of TechPoint, Inc., an Indiana-based organization charged with leading a focused and aggressive statewide effort to help transform and promote the state’s technology sector.  As the preeminent voice for Indiana’s technology community, TechPoint catalyzes growth of the technology sector through business development activities, technology education, government advocacy, expanding university technology transfer capabilities and building strategic university and industry partnerships.

A successful business leader and entrepreneur, Jay previously served as COO of TechPoint.  Jay has also served in numerous executive level positions, most recently as president of Indianapolis-based Elim, Inc., a company that provides financial analysis, strategic leadership, operations, marketing and strategic planning for companies in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Jay has also led the formation and daily operations of several successful startup companies in the technology and telecommunications sectors.

An honors graduate of Butler University, Jay helped lead marketing and strategic planning efforts for Anthem and Adminastar Communications, Inc.  Jay’s prior experience also includes widespread expertise in the areas public policy and government relations.

Jay’s active community participation includes serving as a board member for the Salvation Army; as a member of the Business School Advisory Board, Cincinnati Christian University; as a board member, T.C. Inc.; as a member of the development committee for Oaks Academy; and as a Deacon, Church Management Team, East 91st Street Christian Church.  Jay is a volunteer for Big Brothers of Indianapolis, Habitat for Humanity, Lighthouse Mission, The Penrod Society, 500 Festival Parade, Butler University Annual Fund, Indianapolis Zoological Society, and Junior Achievement of Indianapolis.
