TechPoint’s monthly breakfast series held the first Friday of every month is open to the public and seeks to introduce revolutionary thinking about how business is done today and how it will be done tomorrow. A question and answer session follows short presentations by our subject matter experts and VIP panelists.

The America Invents Act that President Obama signed into law last September has transitioned the United States from a first-to-invent to a first-to-file patent system. The Act represents the most significant reform of American patent law since 1952.
While the changes do more closely align U.S. patent law with the rest of the world, many questions and concerns remain for companies large and small, universities, startups, and independent inventors. For example, it has been argued that the bill makes it easier for companies with the strongest resources – which are usually larger corporations with major legal departments – to secure patents than for students and first time entrepreneurs.
Join us on January 6, 2012, to hear corporate, legal and independent perspectives on the practical implications of the America Invents Act and how the changes are affecting the way our panelists do business.
