Broadband development throughout the state is of major importance to the rapidly growing technology community, and TechPoint has a dedicated focus on increasing the level of connectivity throughout Indiana. While broadband development is expanding in Indiana (Indiana is currently ranked 13th in the State Broadband Index) there are still many limitations to consumers and businesses in rural areas.
TechPoint successfully supported efforts to deregulate the telecommunications industry through reform legislation in 2006 which has led to a dramatic increase in broadband services available throughout the state. While this achievement has been impactful on everyday consumers, the key to true economic transformation in terms of luring new high-tech companies to all areas of the state rests almost solely on developing Indiana’s high-speed fiber-optic broadband infrastructure.
