Finalists Announced for TechPoint’s 14th Annual Mira Awards for Technology Excellence & Innovation

Winners will be announced at energy-infused gala on Saturday, April 20th at the JW Marriott

INDIANAPOLIS (February 14, 2012) — From well over 100 nominees, 40 independent technology, business, university, and community leaders serving as judges evaluated, scored and selected the finalists for the 14th annual TechPoint Mira Awards. Finalists in 12 different technology categories will deliver presentations and answer questions during interviews with the judging panels next week.

TechPoint Mira Awards recognize excellence and innovation through the achievement of Indiana’s outstanding technology industry performers and contributors, and focuses attention on the broader issue of the important role technology plays in Indiana’s economy. This year’s finalists criss-cross the marketplace from established corporations and major research universities to fledgling startups, and from creative agencies to cutting edge mobile and emerging technologies.

The winner in each category will be revealed at an energy-infused, black-tie, “Oscars-style” award ceremony, dinner and afterparty being held Saturday, April 20, at the JW Marriott Indianapolis.

“Indiana’s tech sector and startup communities have grown and evolved into powerful economic forces that extend well beyond our state borders, and they are drawing national attention ranging from IPOs and acquisitions to a recent White House visit,” said Mike Langellier, president and CEO of TechPoint. “The Mira Awards celebrate these achievements and in doing so have helped past recipients in material ways, such as delivering $1 million in new revenue and opening the door to new Fortune 500 clients.”

In addition to the 12 competitive Mira Award categories, two special industry recognitions – TechPoint Foundation for Youth BridgeBuilder Award and TechPoint Trailblazer in Technology Award – are selected by the TechPoint Foundation for Youth and TechPoint boards of directors respectively.
