Nine of the 14 companies honored last night by the state of Indiana as ‘Companies to Watch’ are tech firms innovating in growing Hoosier industries, including advanced manufacturing, life sciences, logistics and tech.

The companies come from across the state representing Elkhart, Hamilton, Marion, Monroe, Posey, Steuben, St. Joseph, Vigo and Whitley counties.

“Today, more Hoosiers are working now than ever before in our state’s 200-year history,” said Governor Mike Pence. “That is a testament to Indiana’s innovators and entrepreneurs like those being honored today who are developing advanced technologies and solving new challenges while creating even more quality jobs for Hoosiers. The state’s initiative to invest $1 billion in Hoosier innovation and entrepreneurship over the next 10 years will build on the incredible momentum of these job creators by dedicating more support and resources to ensure that innovators can launch an idea, grow a business and create jobs in Indiana for years to come.”

Companies to Watch, which is endorsed by the Edward Lowe Foundation, recognizes high-performing, second-stage businesses that are developing innovative products and business practices, contributing to their communities and creating quality jobs for Hoosiers.

The 2016 Indiana Companies to Watch are:

Cornerstone Information Systems in Bloomington is a global technology and services provider focused on the travel industry. The company designs, builds and delivers technology for travel companies and corporate buyers, helping partners manage their process and information to drive better decision making.

CuroGens in Carmel is a tech firm that specializes in developing, implementing and supporting custom software solutions that help motor vehicle manufacturers and their dealer networks maximize resources, streamline processes and improve customer service.

DemandJump in Indianapolis provides an Artificial Intelligence Marketing (AIM) platform that helps marketers analyze digital data, allowing them to discover the largest opportunities specific to their brands and drive revenue growth across all digital marketing channels to grow share of voice, mind and wallet.

Genius Phone Repair, which is headquartered in (city), offers professional iPhone, iPod, iPad and smartphone repair services at our multiple full-service retail locations throughout Michigan and Indiana.

Hoosier Crane Service Company is a family-owned business headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana. The company services and provides new bridge cranes, overhead crane kits, electric chain hoists, wire rope hoists, parts and accessories.

Lesson.ly, which was founded in Indianapolis in 2012, provides easy-to-use learning automation software for more than 300 companies, helping teams build lessons that are easy to assign, track, search and update and ensuring their employees have streamlined access to company knowledge, best practices and team policies.

Marion Manufacturing, which is headquartered in West Terre Haute, is a women-owned company that offers precision machining and is on the forefront of technology with state-of-the-art, tech-enabled manufacturing equipment and a staff off highly-skilled CNC programmers, machinists and toolmakers. The company has been operating in West Terre Haute since 1996.

Nanovis in Columbia City was founded in 2006 to develop science-enhanced, life-improving technology. The company’s patented regenerative technology platforms provide differentiated surface advantages, such as anti-microbial capabilities, that are used in medical devices such as surgical screws and implants.

Nix Companies in Poseyville is a fifth-generation business that operates five businesses, Nix Welding, Nix Coatings, Nix Storm Shelters, Portable Steel Buildings and Nix Equipment, offering a wide variety of services and capabilities for metal fabrication, metal sales, mobile welding, equipment repair, powder coating, painting, heavy equipment refurbishing and industrial coatings.

Prosolia in Indianapolis develops, manufactures and markets life sciences tools that enhance and expand the use of mass spectrometers for translational and preclinical research and chemical analysis. The company, which was founded in 2003, provides innovative sample introduction and surface analysis and systems and intuitive software, which help to reduce workflow complexity and accelerate results with increased cost efficiencies.

Sharpen which is based in Indianapolis, was established in 2011 and provides a cloud native contact center platform for customer experience teams. The platform eliminates costly hardware, increases efficiency and improves customer service.

SMART Temps in Mishawaka provides a patented temperature management system that aids in the management and safekeeping of foods and medical products, such as vaccines, medications and blood. The system monitors more than 14,000 locations, protecting nutrition and healthcare inventory to keep consumers and patients safe.

Spot, which was established in Indianapolis in 2009, utilizes technology to improve the logistics process, providing online and mobile tools that allow customers to quote, book and track freight quickly and efficiently through its MySpot TMS and Carrier Portal.

Torchlite Marketing is a woman-owned tech company that helps marketers and other businesses keep up with online marketing activities through its customized and collaborative platform, which combines technology and talent to enable businesses to plan, execute and analyze digital marketing campaigns from a simple, unified dashboard.

Indiana Companies to Watch awardees must be based in Indiana, privately held, have advanced beyond the startup phase, employ six to 150 full-time employees including the owner and have between $150,000 and $100 million in annual revenue or capital from investors or grants. These firms were selected by a panel of judges convened by the state of Indiana, the IEDC and the Edward Lowe Foundation.
